Malfunction Question

I have a rebuilt transmission with less than 10K miles on it. It's starting to not want to shift into fourth, and shudders when it does.

I'm not going to have to fix it myself, it's under warranty, but I'm curious what the cause could be, to a) verify what the shop tells me, and b) to know what I'm going to have to deal with when the warranty's over.
 


Not a huge 4t65e expert but in dealing with my own the not wanting to shift into overdrive sounds like a worn 4th clutch hub. Which is strange since the later years had the hardened shaft to eliminate this issue.

Never had one shudder but that symptom to me sounds like a torque converter lockup issue. On a full rebuild you should have a new/reman torque converter in it. Hopefully they didn't reinstall your old one.
 
Not wanting to name the shop at this point, but they do promise that the torque converter is remanufactured on their website. I guess I'll find out for sure next week.
