• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Making the L36 more powerful...

Find some speed daddy headers on ebay for $200 shipped. then buy some copper spray and at least one 3" band clamp

I got my L32 for about 1200 shipped I think with 80k miles and that was about a year ago, I bet the prices have come down some. And an L32 which is the newer version of the l67 has: powdered metal connecting rods, slightly bigger valves in the heads, already has the upgraded aluminum LIM gaskets(l67 has plastic that fail constantly) installed from factory, and of course the GEN V blower which most agree is good for 20 more HP out of the box factory. Only thing needed to swap the newer motor in that you can't take off your current is a TB adapter, all sensors except the water temp and MAP were the same on mine, then swap your injectors and fuel rail over and bam!

Thanks for all the infos guys! Much appreciated. I'll look onto gathering everything needed do to a top swap!

I have a side question...

I get around 19mpg, is it normal for a tranny?

I would like to supercharge, but what I gathered for the price was around 2000$ shipped, unless there's a cheaper alternative to zzp.

As for my intake, I have some cold air already. As for the exhaust, I'll be switching the whole line maybe in September.

As for right now on the N/A L36, Nixon, you mentioned Tune and stiffer valve spring, those would fix my shift point "issue"? Where would I be able to get my hand on those, could go look at the auto part shop today though.

Also, I may sound like a noob (But I'm new to this whole 3800 engine modding) but what is the cam/rockers thing you mentioned?

And Josh mentioned about the HV3 insert, is that one worth it?

Morad parts company on ebay sells top swap kits for $600-$700 iirc, check them out bro before you drop a small fortune.:)

Thats still too much for used heads.

I wouldnt use a 10+ year old balancer, nor 10+ year old heads with no rebuild etc.

I'm looking at those top swap kits morad sells.

But he doesn't seem to ship to Canada, does he? Either way, 600$ would be great for me, I'd be able to gather the money for one before the drag in 1 month and half.

Question about the 19mpg still lasts.

A few flow mods, and a street tune will remedy that pretty fast. I am getting 18-21 city, and 21-25 highway. That's at altitude and with different gas and driving habits.

Some people don't like to wait for something to pop up, and Morad is pretty thorough as far as QA. I agree though, Morad is a tad steep for stock stuff.
