MAF sensor problem?

My 99 gtp died on me today and wouldn't run unless I had the MAF unplugged. I had a fuel pump resistor go out a few weeks ago and after replacing it the new one went out 2 weekes later. Not wanting to buy another resistor I read up and people are saying its not bad for the resistor to be bypassed so i just bent the relay tab and its was running fine. I know this has nothing to do with the MAF but not even 2 weeks after the resistor problem and now Im having a MAF go out? This car is pissing me off I dont feel like I should be running into problems like this every few weeks. I tried MAF sensor cleaner and that just made the car die faster with the MAF plugged in. I didn't have the pcm mounted very securely for a while and a mechanic I know is convinced that may have damaged it. Anyone else have any ideas of whats going on with my car????? Ill probably just buy a new MAF tomorrow but I figured Id see what you guys think. Any other troubleshooting I should do maybe?? No SES light either besides the MAF circuit low input (P0102) because of running the car with the sensor unplugged.

get a used oem maf from a junk yard, they run cheap, about 40 bucks. they are the same maf in n/a engines and s/c. they are used in a lot of GM cars. you need a 99 to 01 iirc maf tho, just write down your part #, its on top the maf, look for it in the yard.

also check the wires leading to the maf plug, look for missing insulation. if the wires are damaged the same code will be set, or make it act up.

there is also a maf fuse in the fuse box. look for it and check it.

pcm laying there has nothing to do with it, many of us let it lay there with no issues, including myself.

My maf died with a low input code as well. Mine was intermittant though and it never made it not run. Mine would randomly start reading 0hz while driving and immediately set a cel and the pcm would just switch to my crappy (but correctly tuned) map table. Went to the junkyard and the lady told me 5$ for the one i pulled.... I pulled another 4 while I was there once she told me that. She looked a little lost like her hubby had gone on lunch and left her there.
