It directs the air over the maf. With out it the air will flow differntly so yes. It will throw off your trims.

You would need to tune it again to zero them out

Well if it was tuned with it off, will it still be affecting my idle? It's rough as **** right now, but I think it's just cuz of the bad engine mounts. Also I'm getting about 15mpg driving nice, see thread below this one.

If it idles like sh!t then I bet 110% it is no way possible it is your TB screen. Check elsewhere.

It can be. Took mine out since it was about cracked in half, the car started to idle like sh1t, put a new one in, and problem solved.

Must be that stock throttle body

My Ported LS1/De-Screened 85mm MAF had only idle issues from a aggressive cam

GM installed that screen for a reason.

Had a huge one, fixed it, don't think there are any more.
The hydraulic engine mount grounded out and the tans mount is bad. I think that's what's ****ing up the idle. Ordering new ones from rockauto tomorrow.
