MAF Interchageability Question

Probably a dumb question but can the newer longer square style maf be used in place of the older stubby round style maf's with no tuning?
 


for most builds yes the closed loop adjustments via a working nb o2 will adapt just fine after a bit of learning. the systems and tables are close enough you wont have any problem.

ive run cracked top early mafs on 99+ tb's more than a few times for temporary repairs/etc.
