Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

MAF ground?

You're probably right scotty. My bet is the resistor is blown inside the maf sensor causing no reading. I'm just not an avid fan of replacing stuff that you can test so easily. If you're doing it right, these tests only take a couple of minutes. Better than throwing parts at it.

You'll call me crazy, but I've been running an ebay MAF sensor that I bought for $15 and it runs better than the $150 one at autozone! Running strong for almost a year now.

aftermarket mafs suck for the 3800. car hates them big time. oem or bust. im on a jy maf for like 7 years now. best 40 bucks spent ever lol

my maf pig tail was also shot to hell, had to replace that, also had to chase the dry wire down into the main harness. that messed up.

No, I agree, I don't really want to spend time chasing down what could just be a **** MAF. Problem is that my local Pick and Pull is only open 8-5 M-F with limited hours on Saturday, and I work that same Weekday schedule. So I can only utilize my time during the week to verify that is my problem. Going to run over there this weekend and see if I can grab a replacement and return this new one to Advance.

I was able to grab one from the local pick and pull yard for $12.50 and it works perfectly! Now I'm just wondering if it's worth time to spray this one with some MAF cleaner to clean it up or just run it as is because it works fine.

Glad to hear it wasn't anything with the PCM (pretty rare in these cases without more symptoms). I'd clean it, no harm as long as you use maf cleaner. I might be eating my words on aftermarket maf sensors after hearing your story!

aftermarket maf's are just not any good in a 3800. none of them work well or last long. we see this story over and over, they get a oem maf, (used) and its all perfect again.
