from what i have read the GM MAF are pretty flexible at handling lots more air/colder air,if you were most likely you would throw a code that says you are running lean
 
no its not the stock one 4'' ls6 85mm plastic ..was ok for turbo but now intercooled ..the runs rich and sputters around 10,000 hz ...wondering if this is the issue

Hz maxes at 15,000. You need to tune your car for the new MAF and you also need to tune for major changes (such as adding an intercooler). The air going over the maf element is going to be a different temperature so the readings will be completely different.
