• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I was putting the 3.5 pulley on my car and broke the stud thay comes off of the 5/8th threaded rod off in the shaft.. do I need to buy a new snout or is there another way to fix this issue.. fml......

you only use that to install the pulley. you'll need to get a extractor and get it out the snout pulley, and the puller if nothing is sticking out to grab on to.

Did you try unscrewing it....? Unless you boogered the threads, the remaining portion should back right out.

Use a small magnet, or a pick to work it out.

if its flush i bet you can cut a slot in it with a dremel cut off wheel, then use a small flat head screw driver to get it out.

Drill a miniature hole in it and tap a small 4d or 6d nail it-----turn it out with a pliers. The nails have a somewhat spade tip that dig.

I wonder how I know all this....mydumbass

I tried drilling it and using an extractor and broke 2 drill bits and got no where with it. It's not flush maybe an 1/8 of and inch inside the shaft.

I got ahold of zzp and for 250 they will send me a rebuit snout for my car and install the pulley for free. Sucks that I can only use gen 5 snouts. My brother has a supercharger in his garage off a 00 gtp that was in good condition when it was pulled off a parts car.

Oh well I guess. Got my car all ready for winter and with the money left over bought a plog 3.5 mps aND solid motor and trans mounts now this. Fml right?!

Spend some money on some good drill bits made for metal specifically and you'll be fine. Or if you have a small enough flat head screw driver you could use a hammer to get it into the screw and back it out. The screw shouldn't be that tight in there so it should back out pretty easy

Thanks spazzz.. I killed 2 titanium drill bits already then I gave up because I was getting pissed off even more then I already was.

if you go to use an extractor do not cheap out, if you break an extractors bit and it gets stuck its virtually impossible to drill through it
i would personally get a left handed drill bit or use a set of mac tool extractors i have

Cobalt bit was a no go. Didn't even start biting into it. So I don't know. I did buy Milwaukee cobalt bit's and extractors.

What the hell. Did you use anti-seize on the stud when you did the pull?
Mine came out easy sleazy.
SLP studs that came with the puller

Yeah slp studs. Used copper anti seize same stuff I use all the time on everything and never had an issue before this. Got sick of spending money on drill bits and brought it to a garage and he ruined a Cornwell rescue bit and he said those have never let him down so he gave me prices on rebuit snouts and I think I'll just buy one myself after seeing his prices lol
