M90+turbo Meth Injection Discussion (Pics)

K guys, opinions here

Tapped a couple holes in the neck of my M90 for Meth (m90 + turbo setup).

Haven't tested yet or even got my meth kit.

What I'd like to know is what path will the alky will take when the boost bypass valve is open and air is boosting in at 15-20psi from a turbo :th_jester:.

- its ok to guess fellas :)

See Paint Diagram for reference(below)

Made 2 holes for testing, would prefer 1 nozzle, but might settle for 2 smaller flowing nozzles for increased effectiveness.

Hole A) What % of the Alky is likely to go down the bypass hole?? then of that how will it be evenly dispursed in the lim and divided among the 6 intake ports?
Hole B) Majority (if not all) of Alky will go into s/c rotors

I'm thinking if 20-35% were going down the bypass hole, and 65-80% through the rotors, might this be a decent setup.

Just looking for some ideas, I opted not to tap the lim and take that route.

why aren't you keeping the intercooler?

I was under the impression you should have one under the blower if going twin charged.

You can calculate how much the rotors would be flowing at a certain RPM (lets pretend 6000 RPM).

From that, you can have an amount of fuel.

Which results in power.

Then subtract that from the total expected power.

Go back through the steps above.

Thats how much would have to flow through the BBV.

A will be mostly BBV, B will be mostly rotors.

But until you know how much air is going to flow each way, we're all just guessing.

Blower/Turbo intercoolers are both necessary for a stout TC'd build from what I've always understood.

Thanks fellas,

Yah I have a fullsize stg2 intercooler, but I'm not going to use it for a number of reasons, mostly complexity.

The blower is ported and polished and I plan to run a modest size pulley. I almost tapped the lim for a temperature sensor but opted against it (though it would be pretty cool to see the delta between the IAT and the Lim temps)

If the setup doesn't work out all that well, I won't mind, have the stuff for a different setup :th_king-evil: I'm also looking forward to the tuning challenge and for keeping the sexy polished blower and bling.

The Alky that sprays down the BBV - think it will get somewhat evenly dispursed or will it favor intake #5&6?

I can't see the pictures, but TheOtherNick tapped into the tree on top of the blower...and it seems to work well for him.

Right, right, got ya..

however that won't work for me because with a turbo there is no more vacuum at WOT on that s/c tree.. its seeing boost

ps - aha Matt5112 - your avatar makes me laugh everytime.. :)

ohhh noes -- That's what my wideband, aeroforces and tuner/scanner is for... so really, I'm not scurred.. looking forward to the challenges.

If this setup doesn't perform to my standard I will be switching to an L26 UIM and LIM setup..maybe HV3(doubt it)

... currently I do have a plastic L36 UIM but I don't want it to backfire and explode like on my bro's turbo GP :(

so.. we'll see what happens and I guess I'll keep you posted.

Any more input to the alky question would still be appreciated

1 nozzle? holeA or holeB?
OR
Smaller nozzels in both holes?

(insert dirty joke here)

Kind of ironic that the engine did catch fire .... Also like my buddy's...

But that was after my twin charge did a chip+spin mod and I got the L26 swap + turbo ..

good times...
