M90 Rebuild/port



99.9% sure it's just a throttle body adapter to make it fit. you'll probably be happier with it if you have the extra money to spend. however, you can come out ahead as far as money goes with a genIII. if you really look you could probably find a genIII for under $200, if you're good with a dremel you can port it at home. good luck finding a genV for under $500, i haven't seen many cheaper than that. and any bolts/gaskets/couplers/etc. won't cost you $300.
 
I think you may also need the Gen V manifold if you go that route, but you can modify the Gen III manifold to fit too. If you decide that is the way you want to go I do have a mani that I'm selling (blower is gone already).
 
I think I'm just gonna stick with the ****ty M90 ported/rebuilt. And I am getting Reptile to do it, so hopefully it's good to go. I've said this before in threads ... I'm not looking for this car to be a racer. I've got an 87 Camaro with a 383 stroker. Just looking for a fun car that I can whoop up on when a rice burner lines up next to me. :th_nanana:

Still say look in the classifieds by the time you pay for shipping, porting and rebuilding you might as well get a Gen5 Ive seen them forsale on this site for under 400 bucks. Just get a Gen5 lower intake manifold gasket and a dremmel and cut it out a little more for the Gen5 I dont really think the lower intake is very hard to mod its been a while since Ive seen a Gen3 lim and a Gen5 lim side by side. I paid 700 for a polished extrerior and ported Gen5 with ZZP modular pulley setup and lower intake shipped to my house from the classifieds on here. All said and done I bet the difference is less than 100 bucks to get a Gen5 compared to rebuilding a Gen3. At the very least Id find a good/already ported Gen3 and buy that instead of shipping rebuilding the one you have not to mention down time with the car taken apart.

okay, so what is the difference between the suite and just the regular scanner? Does the scanner allow me to tune or does only suite allow for tuning? And if I get the suite, what's the difference between standard and professional?
 
Standard works fine, but the professional version will allow you to hook a wideband into it. It's worth it to buy it now; it's $150 more. To convert from the standard to pro later is $250.
 


seems to be smarter to invest if one is planning on keeping the car rather than paying atleast 120 each time to tune... I guess I'll start saving even though I know nada about tuning..

Not to thread jack but thats a nice looking GS just drop it a lil. Cant wait to get home and get all the parts in my garage on my GS :th_thumbsup-wink:

thanks.. It's my goal to have it up and running at a track by summer 2011... btw great to see a fellow vet, when did you serve in Iraq? I went in 03 as a Marine and again in 07-08 as a soldier..
 


Im currently in Afghanistan right now was in Iraq from 2005 to 2007 22 months Minnesota National Guard Bradley Mechanic. Im a Sentinel Radar Mechaninc now for the North Dakota Guard. Switched states when I got back. Ive got a garage full of parts, and alot in store for my 98 Green Regal GS. The more military around the better. :th_thumbsup-wink:
