M62 Swap...

The M62 will be here tomorrow... I'll have lots of pics and a much better understanding of how straight forward (or not) this swap will be.

I'm excited to see how this turns out. Don't be mislead by my previous comments, I love seeing new and different things come to fruition :)

Tip for the BBV if you decide to use a turbo one after the throttle body but before the blower: You probably shouldnt vent it to the atmosphere. If its past the throttle body the air has already been accounted for by the MAF and the fuel has been added accordingly. So if you get rid of that air, you will run rich when you let off WOT.

Thanks for the tip but that's not at all how a BBV works on a roots blower.

BBV ≠ BOV

Anyway... it's Tuesday and the blower STILL hasn't come yet... I'm getting annoyed.

Me too where the hell is this magical SC Mr. TVS?????????

Okay so the M62 came and I have good and bad news.
The bad news is, it's 99% likely that I'll need a completely custom adapter plate. The holes simply don't line up and the M62 will need to sit a half inch closer to the belt so the pulley is aligned. It's off by exactly a half inch.

I'll need to cut the LIM about an inch back where the boost enters and then put a plate over the entire thing with the correct bolt pattern for the M62.

The BBV is going to be a pain, as you can see in the pictuer it's just open space between the blower and LIM. I'm going to need to hack the LIM open because they don't land straight and weld some sort of collar on the plate to attach the two. I have the BBV port from a Cobalt, so maybe I can somehow weld it to the plate.

Good news! The throttle body will fit 100%. I have an old GenV TB here (drive by wire) and it bolts on flush. So my N* to GenV adapter will work, no issue.

Aside from needing an adapter plate of some kind this looks like it's going to work.

My goal is to make the M62 work... then the TVS is a direct swap. No sense in blowing a thousand bucks on a blower if it's not gonna fit... this one cost me $80 and came with the BBV port.
