ok im building my own m 112 hybrid i cant seem to find a set of plates so im having locaal machine shop make me the spacers and cut the part of the rotors that fits into the bearings.i know you have to space the mps hub in a little bit more any one have any input???

yeah but for the work that you have to go through....you could get a Gen V, IC and Tranny (if you don't have those already) and blow the crap outta a MP112 off the terminator...

its better than his gen V...cough, cough, KR, KR, KR, cough, cough cough Sorry couldn't resist Chris....I have to agree though if there had been a performance gain to be had by doing that ZZP would have continued to make them....someone would have paid whatever they wanted for them.

m112 Hybrid = FAIL!

...I will however note that the MP112's didn't get popular due to the timing the kits were being made. It was a couple years before 90% of most owners even dug in for cam upgrades, let alone going for more. Not to mention the kit was an Intense/ZZP collaboration :gasp: , and once they started their rivalry, ready-made parts availability died on the vine.

Just like with Whipples not getting big sales in the past 2-3yrs, MP112's had a cost (~$3g) that many people just weren't willing to put into one purchase, since the results aren't instant without additional work. With turbo kits being a similar cost, and putting you a little further ahead before doing/needing the engine upgrades, that's taken the wind out of the s/c upgrading sails.

Builds were done that showed the potential of bigger s/c's (only 3-4, and by fully-drag vendor cars), but the huge torque gain isn't easily overcome by those running it in a FWD car that has traction difficulties & tranny/axle weaknesses. Also, it requires a massive engine upgrade investment to be worth flowing the extra air from a bigger s/c, aka: biggest heads & cam you can possibly run.

it would be cool if you were going to a unique setup, but otherwise it would more than likely be a waste of money.

Go for a MP112 build instead, there's one selling over on CGP for relatively cheap. You just gotta fab some parts to make it work.

I don't see anything F/S but the Cobra M112, which is about as difficult as adapting an LS1 intake manifold to a 3800. (hence the reason Magnuson made a custom case with a compact & generic bolt pattern, and even give dimensions for adapting)

If someone gets the Magnuson MP112 (Gen4 or Gen5, basically same) or their MP1900 TVS (Gen6), I can very quickly modify a ZZP Gen3 M90 I/C top plate to match mine at our machine shop... and have a ton of spare low-head bolts leftover from refreshing mine, since McMaster only sold in 25 qty.

well seeing as i cant get a hold of a mp112, this is the next answer i already have a set up for a gen 3. this is the way i am going. the reason zzp stopped selling it acording to zoomer was not due to poor performance or anything like that he was not making enough money on it..i would go whipple but its out off my price and build range well see if its worth it when it goes to the track

Seeing as you've only made it to basically headers and spray thus far, you seem to be reaching for a random big gain & may be disappointed. Doesn't sound like you plan on doing anything to make the engine work with more/quicker boost or spray any better. My 1st step would be finding an NIC cam setup at minimum. Even that in combination with a s/c upgrade would help make it feel like a much more noticable gain when it's back on the street.

Just saying that trying to pump more into the engine without it able to handle too much more pressure yet, would be stubbing your toe. If you don't wanna worry about an LS1 possibly gaining a top-end advantage, I'd strongly recommend a cam. An I/C of some sort would also be an AWESOME addition to any sort of s/c upgrade... I wouldn't have even thought about using the MP112 without one.

ok i have an xp cam, ported heads and a full size intercooler waiting to go on. i was going to build this blower only after i see where having just the nitrous heads, cam and intercooler with the gen 3 land me .. i wouldnt dream of running that hybrid blower pushing a **** ton more air w/o an i/c and cams

Word.... Shawn has the parts to run the hybrid. He is just waiting to put them all on at once.

Man, about the 3rd time in 2 days I've made a suggestion based on what was presented in a thread, only to get additional info added after the fact... I even went through his recent posts to see what he had already.

Time for an e-vacation, good luck with the build... I'm beat from boarding up windows at our machine shop for the winter, so I'll stop in tomorrow to continue the discussion further. Peace out.

The XP is a great all-purpose cam, but I'm sure you'll want to try something more in the future. If it flows anything close to a true 112, you'll wanna be able to move that extra air in & out of the engine as much as possible.

My GTP is a big fan of the MP112/IC/XP/9.4:1/headers right now, but only run a 3.4 pulley on the street, getting 14-15psi due to "limited" airflow. My RWD vehicle's engine is getting some nice heads and the IS4 cam for this blower, to flow as much as possible, since the 2.9 made up to 19-20psi on the old IS2 h/c engine this blower 1st ran on. (future plans for ZZP AL heads, but $2k isn't laying around)

Be sure to post pics as you go. Lemme know if you need any data/parts relating to this.
