Lurching ABS

The ABS on my wife's 2006 Grand Prix pulses so radically that the car visibly lurches forward and backward on braking. When braking coming off a highway it is really violent. There are no dash indicators lit, but if I disconnect a hub sensor, traction control and ABS are shut off and the lurching goes away. So it has to be an ABS problem, right? Is there an ABS unit that can be replaced? Less radical solution to consider? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I dunno anything about it, but it sound expensive. I bold-ed the difference between the parts, but heck if I know what it means. It's data; someone who knows brakes could probably get information from it. there's also a modulator valve involved somewhere. Golly, I feel unhelpful, but I hope it's better than nothing. I guess (?) you're going to be looking at RPO codes to see which you should get, if any at all.
