Lurch at 50mph then tach goes out

At around 50mph, my transmission will kind of lurch/shake the whole car and the tach goes out. This has happened for a little while.

I would just like to know wtf is happening...

No, it doesn't stall, the tach just goes to zero until you turn off the engine and restart it.

How would a dying ckps explain the lurch/shake?
 
i never had any shaking when my crank sensor went out in my old GT.... but tach dropping to 0 is a good sign thats the problem.
 
Well i don't really want to spend $38 on something i am not sure will fix the problem, so i guess i will wait until either the trans blows up or the cps dies...

Actually it has been throwing dtc's randomly every blue moon so maybe if i can get it scanned before it goes away it will tell me something.

Puzzling.
 




I know the anticipation is probably killing you guys. Im gonna try again on friday at a different shop hopefully the code will show up and will be just the ckps.
 
I got it scanned and it nothing showed up, it hasn't been the lurch lately but the tach did cut out.

Hopefully it will throw another code and i can get it in then.
 
I too have some lurching or oscillations in 4th gear. Never done that before and always does it now. WTF?
