hey anyone that owns/owned an ls1m scanner -- the cable is the special part of the whole deal, and essentially just translates the OBDII data to RS-232 serial data... has anyone tried using the ls1m software with like one of the elmscan converter boxes?


i'm having a hard time finding an ls1m cable ( i have a spare palm or two)
 


I know on his LS1m site he said he still had a few PDA and a few cables left, but that was dated back in 07. I am guessing he is all out of them now? I just purchased a used one, hopefully it will be arriving soon.

If you are looking for one? The only thing I can suggest is just keep watching the "For Sale" section on various boards *shrugs*

I've been in contact with Mark from LS1M.... he's got parts! i may be getting some parts from him and putting one together on my own.

I had barrowed one time a friend in the club's LS1m scanner and really had fun with it. I don't really have the cash to shell out for the HPTuner Suite and a new laptop at the moment. So LS1m fills that void nicely until then :)

So Mark doesnt have any completed cables? You are gonna have to fab it yourself? Good luck on that project. From looking at his make up of his, it doesnt look to bad......

no completed cables. he doesnt seem to have the time anymore. i think im gonna have him send me a box of parts
 
Well I got my LS1m today! Woot! I already set it up on my PC and had to run down and plug the puppy in to see what it would do. It worked perfectly. I am gonna try a few scans on my drive to work to see how it shakes down!

And now I have extra Palm IIIxe sitting on my desk lol.

bu yeah..I sold my LS1M a couple months after my GTP blew up. HPT's is nice and all...I just wish I had my LS1M in a palm so I can have it in the car.

any chance you could make me a cable with some extra parts? I'd pay ya for time

dont know at this point. there's a whole circuit board with a chip etc that does the conversions. and im sure i'd need to clear it with Mark, too.
 


Yeah, i got the parts. plenty of tiny soldering... i could have done it, more than likely... but my coworker mods xboxes and wii's etc, so he's used to soldering tiny stuff... so i let him do it for me, lol... though it's sitting here mocking me... i am still waiting on my palm hotsync cable in the mail.....
