So thoughts. Ls1 Gto stock tune pacesetter header back exhaust and intake on stock clutch and shifter. Vs 97 GS alum cradle,fbodies, rear grand am brakes and maybe caddy rear impact support, removed back seat and passenger seat. Stock bottom end, home gasket matched and polished heads, yella Terra 1.84 RR, ported lim, stage 2 fsic, tep ported gen 3 H bar removed, n* tb, lq4 maf, 4 in fwi, Bonneville tensioner setup and na dog bone bracket, poly square bushings, Bosch ic pump, fb 101 fmhe, an6 fuel lines, 01+ gas tank, hi flow fuel pump and rewire, Plx WB, SSAC headers, oil pressure kit, diy shift kit, 65# injectors and Prj rails fresh struts and shocks, intrigue rear springs, Gto spring blockers, tq stars. Nitrous kit is available to be ran as a cheater shot if needed. Buddy thinks he will walk away like I am tied to a post. Wants to go from a 40 roll. What's the general consensus. I say if I run corn and dial the tune in on pump gas first then tune corn. I have down to a 3.0 as I sit. Who thinks I will pull him on motor. This goes without saying these will take place at 6100 ft Actual elevation... da yet to be determined.with the weight of the weight of the GTO being the biggest thing I think the redux will help immensely and will level the playing field.
 


So I'm looking at your mods and my money is on the GTO cause, well he puts down more power than you. I'd be surprised if you are close to 300whp. Good luck with that race especially wanting to go from a 40 roll. You are going to need the nitrous.
 
Get a wideband with a good tune on the corn an you will take him. I would really try to get more of like a 25 or 30 roll though so you can be in first for a little while.

Similar stuff...I had an XP cam, headers, 3.4"...DHP PCM.

He had bolt-ons. M6 LS1 car.

Rolls were worse for me because he had traction from the roll races. 35 mph really hurt. If you roll him, I'd suggest something...along the lines of nothing. Dig race him everytime.
 


That I've got a baller GTP but when I'm going to get my ass smoked I suddenly have an LS2 GTO that I failed to mention rivalry...
 
Its a regal and if u weren't talking out ur ass and knew me u would know I have 3 trans ams and a ls2 Gto and 3 regal GS so eat me. I didn't mention the Gto because this was about the GS . I know the Gto would win I was talking more about the regal first.
