yea the stock heads just dont cut it on them. heads are not all that hard to change on them tho so thats a plus. gt40 heads are ok, alot better than stock, and ive seen them for about 150 bucks.

i think 95-98 5.0 explores come with gt40 heads so if you can find a wrecked one im sure you could pick them up for cheap.

i was thinking about calling this dealership monday and seeing if they'd take 5k cash. this was before the lt1 are slow compared to ls1 convo happened.

the heads are not crazy hard. pretty much unbolt them and pull them off. someone with a general motor knowledge could get it done. im sure you could find someone to help you. it would be worth it.
