I plan to re tape/adhesive my lower passanger door moulding this week. I know to scrape off all the old adhesive w a razor blade and then completely make sure its all off and clean w 91% iso and make sure it is all smooth and good to go. My question is what the hell do i use because Youtube, here, google, and everywhere says something different. Majority say to use 3M double sided tape so thats what i bought the automotive 1 as u see pictured... with that said ALOT of ppl on here and in yt comments and google say they do it and it only last 1-3months and they have to keep redoing it. I NEVER wanna have to mess with this again so i really wanna be sure it sticks for the next 10yrs plus. So which of these should i use?

Also even tho it is a bigger moulding part on the door should i still heatgun it or hairdryer it for a bit to get both spots warm before doing this or will it not matter aslong as its above 70degrees outside. Also heard you should use a heat gun to prime the piece your re attatching and the area its going to just for a better bond so i was gonna use a hairdryer if i could find a heat gun and just blast it for like 10minutes before i do anything so its atleast somewhat warm. Good or bad idea? Some say use the expoxy sealant they do for car windshields since it is strong enough to keep a windshield in your car for 10+yrs.The only other thing i can think to use is a super strong black epoxy of some sort. Almost every1 says to use the 3M double sided "VHB" tape. IDK What VHB stands for or why every1 says to use it over the 3M double sided auto moulding tape so if someone could explain to me that difference that would be great. I almost wanna use the 3M Double Auto tape on the top and load on a expoxy of some kind under it to ensure double strength and no peeling or popping off. I plan to use ALOT of blue painters tape to keep it in place after i legit hold it in place for like 5-`10mins w tire leaned up against it. Alllll and anyyyyy help or advice is welcome. You guys usually help me ALOT of stuff so i am hoping you can with this too. Thanks in advance!

Finally got around to actually doing this today. Used 3m VHB tape off amazon. After using a razor blade to get majority of the old glue/tape off i used a rag with gasoline on it and whiped it down and it finished getting all the left overs off the door. Then i used 2 clamps for 20mins and when i took the clamps off they put 2 holes in the plastic trim.. gonna go get a new plastic trim next week and re-do this all over again... moral of the story if u replace this DO NOT USE CLAMPS! Use something else cuz the plastic will break!
