Low side service port

I need to locate the low side service port on my 2001 3.1 in order to recharge the AC but im having trouble finding it. Ive narrowed it down to 2 ports that could be it but im not sure. The hose kind of fits on connector 1 however it blows out air when connected. It will not fit on connector 2 so i was wondering if i need some kind of adapter. Any ideas which one is the low side port? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Before I recharge it, my only concern is that when I connect the hose, it blows air out of the port instead of sucking it in, even with the engine on and AC on max. Is this normal? Just dont want the can to explode.

Yes, this is normal. Your low side is still pressurized. It should read anywhere from 35-55 PSI when charged. The hotter it is outside, the higher the pressure should read for a full charge.

Whatever you do, DO NOT turn the car or AC off with the can/hose still attached. I've seen too many people do this out in our parking lot. Once the system starts to equalize, it can build up pressures in excess of 150 PSI and blow the bottom of the can out quite violently.

BTW, from what I've been told R-134a cans are charged to around 100 psi. There is a relief "valve" made into the bottom of the can that is designed to blow if the pressure exceeds that by too much, so don't leave your cans sitting out in the sun very long, either.
