low oil light

So the low oil light randomly comes on. I replaced the sensor located by the oil filter. (i think this is the sensor responsible for monitoring this) light still randomly comes on.

i'm thinkin there is a wire or plug bad or dirty but before i go through all that I'm wanting to know if there is something internally that could be going on.

the oil is full. always. there is no noticeable affect on performance whatsoever.

I've had the car since feb and its done it the whole time off and on. i've had two oil changes since then and seafoam.

p.s. lady was putting 10w40 in it. i don't know for how long--unless she just bought the wrong kind that time. cap says 10w30 on it right there. i find it kind of odd because my other two gtps called for 5w30.

Trace the wires for it and see if it has any damage.

Or just unplug it, because it comes on at like 5 psi of oil pressure when the engine is already dead.

you changed the pressure sensor, not the low oil sensor.

thats in the front of the oil pan, bumper side.

using 40 weight oils ok, i run it in the summer time. but i also have high miles.

i'll trace the wires and probably clean the plug first before i do that even. it had a bad leak from the valve covers. oil everywhere back there.

i'm not sure what you mean by it coming on when the engine is already dead. what psi is it supposed to be?

I read that quickly, I'm with what scotty said, the low oil light sensor is on the front of the oil pan.

The pressure sensor is on the oil filter housing.
