Low oil level light

Hey guys,

I've ran into what I hope to be a small problem with my car. Every so often the low oil level light comes on. I can guarantee you the car isn't low on oil and I change it regularly, if not early. Once the car warms up and I shut it off for 30 seconds or so, then restart it, the light turns off. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? It's a stock '03 L36 that just rolled 149K miles. It's frustrating me to no end and I really want to figure out what's going on. :th_scratchhead:

Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Check the sensor, see if its loose, check the connector, clean the connector if needed.

The sensor itself may be bad or even a partly broken wire. Could be many things.

JSYK, if you unplug the sensor, the light doesnt turn on. Maybe if it shorted somewhere it might turn on, but I have mine unplugged for my oil pressure gauge and theres no light.

Interesting how do you have the level sensor on the front of the pan unplugged for the pressure sensor that is located on the back of the motor on the oil filter adapter?

I see my mistake. I was talking about the oil pressure sensor dummy light, its by the filler neck. Didnt know there was a low level sensor also.
