Low coolant light keeps coming on

Hey everybody. We own a 03 Grand Prix. It's got the electrical problems and the blower sensor problem, but now the stupid low coolant light keeps coming on. It was actually low, so I filled it up. But it came back on today. I'm going to check tonight to make sure all the coolant didn't leak out or something crazy like that, but what else should i check?

p.s. beyond filling up fluids in a car, i'm not a car guy :th_laugh-lol3:

The sensor is probably gummed up. Either pull it out and clean it, or replace it. When was the coolant last flushed? What are you putting in to replace the lost coolant?

The cap said dex-cool so I filled it up with premixed dex-cool.
Where would the sensor be?
good question on when the coolant was last flushed. could be never. the car only has 50k miles on it and its just now my responsibility.

Your best place to start would probably be flushing the system, then.

OK. that definitely sounds out of my ballpark. hopefully its not expensive to have someone do.

It should not be. Although, you could do it yourself with a garden hose and a screw driver. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Or you could just unplug the sensor and the light will stay off. Just check your fluids on your own.
