loud whine when driving

hey, ive got a 2002 GT, alright, well the problem that ive been hearing is that of a noticably loud whine coming from somewhere in the front of the car. idk where it is exactly but it only happens when u are in DRIVE and hit the gas, the harder i hit the pedal, the louder it gets. idk what itd be, fuel pump? belt? help me out guys. thanks alot.
 


power steering pump. my 02 had 75k miles when i bought it, and it whined like crazy. Replaced an alternator thinking that was it, nope. Put on a new power steering pump, problem solved
 
yea i get that weird "whine" all the time in my gtp....someone said it might be the "supercharger" whatever the hell that is...haha jk just bein stupid plus i realize u have a gt and not a gtp
 
I had the same problem a few months ago. Ended up just being the power steering fluid, but yet again, my car only had 26,000 miles on it at the time. It's either you need a new pump, or you need to flush it out and change the fluid.

It seems more of a new pump problem with the higher mileage cars.
 


that "whine" is the blower. Betcha didn't know someone top swapped your car while you were asleep! hahaha
 
I just got mine done when i got my oil changed. They used this pump machine but it cost like $70. There's probably another cheaper way to do it though.
