Loss of power since downpipe install

So I bought a ZZP catless downpipe and went to have it installed today. After they finished I was driving and the exhaust was really raspy, so I went and got a resonator put back on. My problem is that it seems like I've lost some power. It just doesn't have that kick that it used to have before I put on the downpipe.

Is there a reason for the possible power loss?

the bottleneck in your exhaust is removed, so now your powerband moved up a little in the RPM range. you are making more power, just in a different area. therefore, that low end grunt you had before is reduced for a little more top end. however, it shouldnt be a night and day difference as you dont have that much power to begin with. your head is playing games with you.

i agree, most of the smaller mods like that are in your head. you might only be able to notice on the track or on a dyno.

You have the hv3. That with the dp causes a loss in low end torque. I'll bet if you got a tune to take advantage of your mods then you'll be set

When i had my 3 in downpipe an header install i noticed a night an day difference really opened that thing up. Maybe it could be that u losing a little bit of low end torque replacing it with more high end torque? All depends on at what point u usually step on it. I noticed a gain because i always drive on the highway so i feel it alot but if u drive on regular roads an press the gas u will notice that low end not picking up like it used too.
