Looking to upgrade from stock springs/struts, confusion on what fits my 04 GP

My struts are starting to get worn, so I'm looking to upgrade them with something better when I replace them. I have already have changed my LCAs over to the older style so I could use the GMPP sway bar. Will the springs/struts for the 97-03 GPs fit my year? Is it possible to use the Police Impala setup or a setup from the GXP? Is there other better solutions that wont affect ride height(lowering the car wont be fun in the winter) that still give a better ride and handling?
 


As for lowering the car and winter, it's a non issue.

The picture is a little dark, but you can see the amount of snow we had got and my Stealth sits on coilovers and sits lower than 99% of lowered Grand Prixs and I drove it through several winters just like that.



As for fitment I used 97-03 struts on front of my 07, but I believe I had to use 04+ on the rear.
 
Are you doing it or a shop.
The quick strut options suck. Pieceing components together is the way to go limited by dollar signs.
Get some Excel Gs, new mounts and pick your springs.
 
For what it is worth I put the Monroe quick struts on and haven't had an issue. The time saved by not having to tear the struts down and put them back together was worth it in my case.
 


I'll be doing it myself, if I went the quickstrut option, what ones should I be looking at for an upgrade over stock(ie from other W-bodies). I found the Impala SS/Police, I heard that would fit but may raise the car 2 inches or so(I dont want that BMW X6 look...). These would be the stockers but I want alittle higher spring rates and better struts. Are there any improved options in the Quickstrut line for our cars or will I have to buy separately, I want to keep in below $300?

Oh, I'm more worried about clearance during snow storms as they tend not to plow the roads out my way and I still have to be places.

EDIT: According to other forums, the quickstruts will only use FE1 suspension and are cars came stock with the FE3 springs/struts. Could I get the FE5 springs/struts from the Cobalt SS, or would that lower the car be a lot?

At $300 you can get all corners Excel-Gs and new mounts. Reuse your springs. Rent a spring compressor and have at it.
An impact wrench comes in handy for the strut nut and knuckle bolts.

I have my old springs, 2004 comp-g that could work for ya.
