Looking to get a G8

If you are gonna do it, Do it once & do it Right! Don't regret it. Go all out. If you are shellin out over $25k for a ride, it better be everything you want. I'd get the GXP. I wouldn't even consider a V6.

To be honest they are going up in price. I suggest finding one now before they continue to go up. I had a white GT I was going to buy with only 8,500 mi on it for 25k back in early 2010. Now people are asking 25k for ones with 30-40k mi on them. They are going to hold their value very well, just like the GTO.

if your set on buying a G8 GXP, you might as well just use that money to buy a C5 Z06 Corvette.... im just sayin

And you can always supercharge it and make it more of a beast to. 400+ HP in a sedan? For almost half the cost of a CTS-V? Yes please! :th_laugh-lol2:

Do it!!!! I did it and couldn't be happier. So much stuff to do to the G8's it's not even funny. Now, be prepared though if you decide to mod it because parts for the G8's are more expensive than the GP's. Since there are not that many G8's on the road, you can expect to get people staring at your car almost on a daily basis. The only proble you may see are the following: 1. steering wheel shake/vibration. It has been extensively documented that these cars will have the mysterious steering wheel vibration and there is no way to completely eliminate it. Not every car has it, but maybe 1 out of 10 G8's have this, 2. Your MPG's will be lower than your GP, but it's not that bad. 3. The DOD (displacement on demand) when engage can make a low groaning noise, mine does that but you will get used to it and not notice it anymore. 4. You can go to Pontiac G8 Forum: G8 Forums - G8Board.com which is the official G8 forum to read up on everything. Good luck with your decision!!!

2000-2005 SSEis are much more reasonably priced, big, and still sporty and from what i've seen always have low miles for the year.

Whole thread is only 3 1/2 months old... don't get too worked up about it.

I face-palm at the almost 4 year old threads that get started back up

I have a 2009 Liquid Red V6 Premium...Wife's Ride. Would love to give her my new Comp G but she loves the G8. It's power is good for a v6 and the exhaust sounds a little bit throaty. The car is amazing ride wise. Bought it with 31k on it and it just turned 40k no problems. I hope to get a GT at some point.

@Galaxy04CompG, I have read your post about your wife's car. I am glad that she and you are enjoying it.

If you need assistance with researching the Pontiac G8 please, don't hesitate to get a hold of me.
