Looking to Begin Modding 05' GTP

Hello to all,

I've owned my 05' GTP for over 2 years now and have enjoyed many miles of reliable sporty family sedan fun, but I am just itching to begin modding the car to have some fun now that the car is not the daily driver. All I am familiar with is the usual bolt on mods for these cars and I will be looking for advice on more in depth tuning on the appropriate forum topics. I'm not sure what my goals are for the car, so maybe if people can tell me their success stories or failures I can get an idea of the different types of approaches to modding these cars I can take. I don't mind investing in the car since I have no plan for resale, but I want to make sure that I am wise in my investments for the pursuit of speed.

Yes, this was the first thing I viewed after registering for this forum, and I immediately printed it out as my "bible" for future mods! Thank you for throwing that link out there because it is an excellent read!

I just want to start getting to know other people that have modded their cars for different uses, and get a feel for what my goals are for my car. I want to race the local track on weekends just for fun. If I could break into the 12's I would be ecstatic! I'm mechanically inclined so most of the mods I researched are no big deal to me. This car is no longer the family car so its up for grabs to start having some fun.
