• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I am new here, was here once before but just came back since i got my 99 gtp. Just curious how to get to the best information on here. I have noticed many of these threads were posted years ago. just wondering whats the best way to get correct information. Is the info they posted accurate from years ago or should i read through it and see what people have to say. Im sure its different for a lot of threads. Im more interested in suspension at this point. Wanting to lower a little and upgrade struts. If anyone can point me to the right direction that would be great.

Any of the "stickied" threads are good. I'd look through the suspension section of the forum and sort by views. I've found a bunch of the how-to posts are relevant and helpful. Welcome to the forum though!

Always love to see new people in the club! Kyb excel g or if you have the money kyb agx struts are the best strut options for our cars. Or if you have a grand to blow just get bc racing coilovers which will be by far the best money can buy. How much of a drop are you looking for?

I don't want to go super low, just get some of the wheel gap gone. Also a little better handling. not looking to spend a ton, but we all know you get what you pay for.

Welcome to the grand struggle that plagues all of our cars. If you're looking for a little lowering, I've got a set of eibrach lowering springs for cheap. Bought them from a friend who only used them for a few years and never got around to putting them on. I'm going the route of upgrading my struts to modified bilsteins. That would be the top end, and the most expensive route along with coilovers. Everything has pros and cons though and different budgets.

Like I said coilovers are by far the best with full adjustable ride hight as well as firmness but, they are 1000$

Agx sturts I believe are around 130$ each for just the bare strut and then youbwould have to buy lowering springs and if your mounts or spring isolators are bad you would want to replace those.

Kyb excel g struts you can get bare like the agx for u think 80ish$ or you can do what I did and buy the strut plus which is a full complete strut with a new mount and all new isolators and such. That costs 115$ per strut.

There are several lowering springs for our cars but the most liked seem to be the ssc/canuck springs which are 200$ shipped and offer a 1.8 inch drop in the front and a 1.6" drop in the rear. Vogtlands are another favorite and I bekieve they are a 1.4" drop all around and cost around 240ish shipped.

Another thing to think about is when you go lowered depending on the amount of drop you will need to buy either motor and trans mount spacers which are 20$ or shorter dog bones which are 25$. This is to correct the axle alignment so there isn't any vibrations from lowering the vehichle. The spacers are the preferred method but the shorter dog bones are a ton easier to install.

The eibach springs wstefan20 has for sale are also great springs that I have actually owned. They only drop the car 1" which is why I got different springs but, if 1" is enough for you they had a great ride quality and since it was only a small drop they did not require the shorter dogbones or spacers. Eibachs are pretty dang expensive though purchased from a store.

i was planning on the new dog bones and spacers already. figured id just do it all at once. its my dd so i don't want to go to crazy. The ssc springs would probably be around the drop i was thinking.

The "kyb excel g" and "kyb agx" are the best strut options. From what I have heard the agx struts dont last any longer then the excel gs being lowered so the only thing you get with the agx struts is adjustable dampening but they are also a lot more expensive. I have about 20k miles on my excel g struts and they are running strong.
