Well i drive a 97 gtp and im not sure what mod i should do next. i already have basic mods exhaust, intake, ignition, and a 3.4 pulley. i was wondering which mods would be more beneficial than others. i would personally like the most bang for the buck while retaining reliability since its a daily driver. im considering getting a new cam. any suggestions? feel free to criticize, still new to the scene

oh yea i already have one. i installed it at the same time as the pulley so they go hand-n-hand in my mind as one mod since one isnt much without the other

anything past the downpipe doesnt do a thing for making power. you, sir, need headers or at least a downpipe.

Hhhhmmm this might explain why when i bought the car it was 800 bucks with a blown piston haha. the guy i bought it from said it had flowmaster headers and downpipe. is there anyway i can distinguish what kinda parts they are by looking at them? because i was obviously lied to.

lol flowmaster does not make HEADERS for grand pirx.

if all you have is mufflers, a smaller pulley and a tune, you motor is HURTING REALLY BAD.

can you give a little explanation how so, so i can prevent any further damage? i already had to replace a piston from when it was bought and dont wanna have to do it again >.>

i could but it'd be completely empty. I'm replacing a piston and still have to get everything checked out so it's all in pieces. Thats why i was wondering what my next mod should be since i was considering a new cam and it's already broken down. but since i was presented with some new facts thanks to this forum, im thinkin i needa get everything i have sorted before i get ahead of myself

These are STOCK headers,

You want these: 2000 2001 2002 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP EXHAUST HEADER 6s: eBay Motors (item 170469647796 end time Sep-03-10 17:41:28 PDT)

While your engine is apart, adjust your top ring gaps to prevent yourself from damaging another piston. This is probably the single best mod you can do to a supercharged engine. The stock ring gaps are just too tight for the amount of power these engines are capable of producing (with the supercharger).

Hmmm, that's funny...I'm using stock ring gaps on my rebuild...as did other people...not sure where that comes from but that isn't true.

Isnt the issue if your cylinder temps get too high the top ring insta welds itself to the cylinder wall then it chips the piston?

larger ring gap would avoid this but result in a more leaky engine.
