Looking for good sound and bass

I was planning on putting in some upgraded back speakers that put out a good amount of bass, but now im thinking maybe just throw in an 8 inch sub or something, just to make it sound good. I already own a 12 but i dont want it to pound so hard, just looking for good sound quality.

I have the Monsoon system and i also have a pioneer deck, but i dont know if i should put that in or just leave the stock HU.

opinions? advice?

pioneer deck, yes. memphis or pioneer full range speakers would give u good sound and bass that will be louder than the monsoons. OR if the pioneer HU has a high pass filter u can run only higher frequencies to the speakers and hook up that 12 for your bass and tune it to your likeing

keep the 12, put it in a sealed box, and run a smaller amp. that should be ok. keep the bass and sub levels low and i would think you would have something descent...

the 12 was not bad, and i had it on a 300 watt amp when it was in my other car. 12's are just so low sounding i guess i what im getting at. you know how 10's keep up with the beat more and are higher. So thats why i was leaning towards the big bass speakers because they would obviously keep up with the music a lot better than subs, at least i would think so.

and ya right now it is in a ported box, but my amp is blown so maybe i keep the setup. buy another amp, seal the box, and keep the sub levels fairly low yet keep the frequency high so it doesn't have such a pound to it?

find a decent amp and either buy or build a smaller sealed box should be good. or find a friend that has a setup you would be interested it, try it in your car and see if its what you are looking for and go from there. thats actually what i am doing right now. i have a 12 in a sealed box and i cant say that i have a problem with it hitting the different notes( lows and highs) its hits them all just fine.
