Lonely Alaska

Is there a video that someone has to do this. I really have no idea and cant find any directions with pictures.

Edit: Ok, well I watched a quick video on youtube and have the general idea. My Tie Rod is new but is loose I guess. What would be the best way to fix this? Should I take it off and remount it? Or just tighten that nut and call it good lol.

Definitely look around for the EBTCM. The dealership said the same thing to my warranty company and my warranty company said "fug you". They found one for under $250.

Edit: And in Anchorage, I would agree with the dealership that the ABS is important. Unless you're really good at break pumping. If you have experience with pre-ABS cars, then you'll be fine or you'll get into a few fender benders and learn real quick.

Im not sure...It was the warranty co. that found the part. They werent willing to pay $1200 for a part they found cheaper. But it's been 4 yrs now, without issues. Now that my warranty is up, if it happens again, Im gonna pull the warning light bulbs out and run with it. I grew up in MI without ABS, so I know how to handle it.

Finally took a look behind my wheel and there is grease everywhere! This will have to be fixed soon definately. When I fix this issue, New boot, grease, someone mention a new axle? And I took a look at the Tie Rod and it seems to be snug, no play at all, maybe just a tad back and forth Outer - Inner.

Ok, well this looks broken. I found this while trying to relace my CV boot. What do I do with it lol. I dont feel like replacing it. Do I have to take this piece off to lower the ball joint?

that broke thing is the sway bar, replace it when you want, ball joint you would un bolt the end links, but if its cracked off i guess you dont have to.

i thought you were doing a tie rod end? that, you just loosen up the bolt that holds it to the spindle, and hit the spindle right where the tie rod goes through, im sure you will see dents in one spot as this is how a lot of ppl remove tie rods, whack it real hard a few times and you will see it pop.

and a a ball joint replacement...i would just get new lca's 3 parts all in one.

Yea, my tie rod is loose I will take it off completely and put it back in nice and snug.
but it came apart very easily, just tugged on it with my super strong arms. I just had trouble find the ball joint nut, everything was covered is globs of grease, this is one messy job. I found out that there is no way I am getting this boot to stretch. Time to find out how to take apart the cv joint.

I drove there with my abs/tcs both out the whole time I lived there, and on all season tires. No fender benders for me, nothing even close.

Yea, once you live here a lot it is easy to figure out how to drive. Not the tourists though, it rains and everyone is driving 10 under the speed limit. Very annoying.

Anyway, got the boot finally done. Everything looks good but I feel something loose under there a little bit. I took it for a test run. I will get it alligned(?) very soon.

Now tomorrow I will do the Power Steering pump. Any special tools for that?

Gave mah car a bath today too. I am tired! But overall fun! Most of the time

Got my alignment done to my car today. Something just doesnt feel right now. I hear this noise when I turn left or right, it sounds like a joint or nuckle popping in then out as I turn. Now I'm heaing a grinding noise from the left driver side, when I brake though is when it starts to grind.. damn

No brake pads are fine, I wont notice the grinding noise until I brake. And when I let off the brake noise is there and seems to go with the wheel. If I drive slow you can hear it grind at a certain degrees. For example a clock make a Koo-Koo sound every 12 O'clock.
