Lolv8: Holy Sh!t!!

Re: Lolv8: Fenders got pulled

I asked because I was curious if you are going supercharger or turbo.

Then it would be easy to figure out what fuel system to run and injector size based on boost.

I got 60lb injectors on the way, dont need 80s because I am not running e85. I have a 10 gallon fuel which in reality would not last long on a road trip. I have a 350lph inline pump with half in hose. The original 241 heads are going to be swapped with the 243 heads to get better flow and a little more compression, may deck the heads to get a little higher compression ratio, not sure yet, really depends on the cam I will go with. With what I have in store for the motor should get me really decent numbers giving me approximately 3.5lbs/hp. Again that number is just a goal, nothing proved on paper yet.

Re: Lolv8: Fenders got pulled

With what you are using the veihlce for, even if you just want 450-500hp to the tire it will be more than enough to have fun with.

Maybe look into the ISKY Triple 12 cam for a somewhat mild street/turbo cam. It should produce good power everywhere you need it.

Re: Lolv8: Things are getting serious

Well things are rolling. Made a lot of progress since my last post.

I got the dual air to air intercoolers mounted along with the radiator. I changed my mind from the water to air intercooler because they can be so easily heat soaked so I went with the standard air to air. The car is currently upside down getting blasted...I used about 450lbs of silica to blast the floor and I am not even remotely close to being done. Whatever Nissan used back in the day seems to be some good sh!t. I'll have pictures of that in the near future. Then off to get Linex coating!

Re: Lolv8: Blasted!

Looks sweet. Hopefully I'll get the chance to so this with my camaro one day. It's still in the process of running/stopping/turning being a pain.

Re: Lolv8: Time for the color change!

Boys boys boys......and girls! The car is officially completed and was just sent off to paint! I will be getting it back perfectly straight, painted, and hopefully looks like I want it to! Here are some photos to hold you until I get it back.

Windshield wiper motor was internally mounted to have for a cleaner engine bay
Front bumper was cut for bigger inlets to the intercoolers and V-mounted radiator
Mounted the engine and power steering oil coolers
Quick release seat rail set up (For that ejecto seato maneuver)
Corner light holes were all filled

Re: Lolv8: Time for the color change!

I apologize for the lack of updates. The car was all sandblasted and off to paint. In the meantime I sent off all the drivetrain parts to powdercoat. I went in on Friday to check on the cars progress and here are a couple sneak peeks of the colors.

This is the candy apple red metallic. With minimal light looks like a dark cherry, when hit with light looks like a red

Got the drivetrain parts back from powdercoat

Re: Lolv8: Time for the color change!

After all said and done, I am extremely pleased with how the color combos came out along with the body work itself. I will admit, there are places on the vehicle that are not perfectly straight but from what I started with, this came really far. This was the only body shop that would attempt to repair the roof, no other body shop would touch it without cutting it off and putting on a new one. This is the same body shop that painted TuffEnuff's car from Street Outlaws just recently which is also pretty cool. I have to give this body shop many props for getting this car straight as it is now. I know its not perfect but the car was in much rougher shape than I thought. I lived and I learned through this build and honestly do not regret one thing. Now it is time to assemble! Woot Woot!

Awesome man. Looks like you're making your dream car, a real car. Good s**t.
Are you worried at all about scratching it during assembly? Are you gonna wrap it to protect the new paint job? Since it needs everything assembled, quite likely something will get dinged up, No?
