Lolv8: Holy Sh!t!!

Classy Pontiac

New member
Whelp, its about time I will post this to some sort of social media. I wanted to keep this as a "secret" build but I just recently had a massive hard drive crash and lost most of my progress pictures...it sucks but Ill show what I have now, and more when I find the others. This whole project came to mind one day when I just wanted to build a complete full blown racecar. I wanted something light, rwd, and different, but wanted to use the LS engine. I was looking around online for a few months and found a 1993 Nissan 240sx. Went to go and look at it...long story short, the pictures that were sent to me were not the most recent pictures of the car...however the cars under body was in MINT condition...not a spec of rust, not a dented frame rail. The downside to this car was the owner cut out the firewall...was I upset...yes...did it stop me from purchasing it...no. This started as just a shell and has a long journey ahead yet before it is where I want it.

Re: Lolv8

You just have to retrofit everything, headlights, engines, whatever. All kidding aside, this looks like some awesome work, and I can't wait to see more!

Re: Lolv8

WOAH! We have our first start on choke cleaner! P.S. - My apologies for the camera dudes language....he doesn't know anything about a car

Re: Lolv8

Open heads can change the tune of the car to possibly lean out the motor and cause high EGTs. However no fuel was being put in besides from the aerosol can, which was run at a constant idle, so there was no leaning. All is well my friend, promise.

Re: Lolv8

Not to argue, but it's lean the second it ran. It has no real fuel and that can of braker cleaner or starter fluid likely burns faster and hotter than regular gasoline.

Sure you didn't run it long enough and or at high revs to real burn a valve up but pure blue flames are pretty damn hot.

Granted, I've ran several motors on brake cleaner alone when the fuel pumps have died. Sat ontop of the motor and sprayed it in as someone tried to drive it into the shop, those are the fun ones.

Re: Lolv8

Ya by no means is there an argument. I guess I was more looking at the time it was ran. Yes indeed if I ran the motor for a much longer time then I would be questioning the valves. OOOOOHHH I have been apart of plenty of stories about brake cleaner and engines haha

Lolv8: FD approved cage install with some other shtuff

It was a big couple of days, even with Christmas just recently I still found time to work on the 240. In the recent couple of days I have done the following

-Take out windshield
-Remove Doors
-Remove dash
-Remove firewall safety bar
-Install Cage
-Created PCM/TCM mount inside cabin
-FINALLY TOOK PICTURES OF THE BRIDE SEATS...

Here are some progress pictures

The result of the windshield removal....yes it was already broke, so kicking it out and breaking it even more didn't bother me.

Started the cage installation. It will be a FD approved caged which means it qualifies for any drift event in the US.

Welding in the floor plates for the cage....don't mind the wiring mess, it will all be cleaned up....eventually

I can't wait to get these bad boys in! These things are comfortable AF!

More pictures to come!

Re: Lolv8

Looks like a great start! I love watching a car be torn down and built back up

Re: Lolv8

Every time I see an LS swapped 240, I get envious lol. I would love to swap one into my S14 someday:
