I had a friend that told me to do this at my shop so I did and what happen is it got hot and brittle and blew up and wreaked all kinds of stuff
Weaker yes cause you're removing material. I'm not sure about brittle, figure it would have to get extra hot which it may because of the less material. Do you have any pictures of your's blown up? My friend that used to be a machinist told me the same, but he never took pictures. He said they warped and locked up because of the less material so it was only done for track cars. I was trying to tell AlkyGTO about this in his Epic build, but he says he's seen some with a few thousand miles on them and Stiegemeier who he knows, tells him he'll be fine. I don't think it's worth the money or risk especially since most people daily drive their car.

forget the metal ones,,

just get some made out of cf or a hard plastic and put in there
no heat problems
no weight problems
just dont think about all the neg cons to this
