• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Life just threw a couple mean jabs :(

It's summer, you now have time to go work on the car and when I got laid off I learned this:

1. It's summer..:th_thumbsup-wink:
2. The job hunt won't take all day of everyday. Get your resume ready, get some ideas etc and put them into play. Then go play. There are tons of low cost or free things that you've wanted to do for a long time. Here's your chance.
3. See #2 and go play some more
4. See what I mean. :th_peaceout:

Sorry man, I know exactly how you feel. I was at a place for 8 yrs (ALOT of time being laid off there too). And 6mnths ago they decided to sell to a company that had no intentions of keeping the employees. (Worked for a GM supplier) I unfortunately had to suck it up and take a job for much less than I was making before, but the plus side is A. Im working! B. Its ALOT easier work and C. Its only a mile away from my house! Im desperately trying to discover a way out of the automotive field, but its all I've ever done. Anyways, keep ur head up man, good things will come.....in the mean time relax and enjoy the time off!

Sorry to hear, I know what you're going thru. Mine was 30 years (minus 6 months consulting) at my previous employer being in IS. Walked in and a 1/2 hour later learned they restructured and my position had been eliminated, talk about a kick in the nutsack.

You say it now, but it really hasn't sunk in yet, you will be going thru various emotions (depression, hate, etc..) file for unemployment, take advantage of what you can and as others have said previous - Good luck and hang in there!!!!

Thanks, guys. I filed for unemployment online Tuesday, so that's already under way. The amount I will be getting is barely enough to cover the rent and basic bills, but it beats nothing I suppose. Also, I will most definitely be taking advantage of the time off to finish a ton of things I've been trying to find the time to do once and for all. I'll be getting down to business as far as getting rid of all my excess parts starting this week, which will free up quite a bit of tied up cash alone.
