LED switches??

Mad Monkey

The Mod Monkey
Who would be interested in having their interior switches changed over to LED's
i can get several colours - blue, white, red, orange, yellow, green, and purple (uv apparently)

it doesnt take much for me to swap em, just kinda wondering if it i could make a few bucks and help people out who either dont know how, or have the time/resources to accomplish this goal.

no idea about a potential cost etc, hence why im throwing it in the lounge, more traffic and this is more of a general question/commentary

i want every single light in the cab minus the overheads in green. or as many as you can. including gauge faces, DIC, and my digital HVAC panel. would even drive to canada to do it and learn how. please come up with a price and i'll do my best to get $$$ lol

im gonna grab up some spare switches from the junkers so i can at least have some around for A- testing and B - shipping out to then receive new ones back.

becuase they are small, i could ship em in bubble wrap packs ,shouldnt cost much to ship.

what about costs? anyone got a fair/reasonable price in mind.

and before you even ask - yes lilbear i COULD possibly get pink.. gonna cost extra tho, they are rareish. that and im not sure about doing an 04+ gonna test that out this weekend.

i have no idea what to suggest for a price lol. i don't know what kinda labor this would be or what. or what parts you're really talking about with what you're shipping... i guess i'm just a little confused lol

well i can probably find some door switches etc at my local yard, then swap em to the colour you want, and we do an exchange, my modded ones for your stockers, i would have a security deposit held incase i didnt get new ones back.. it can take about 30-1hr per switch depending on how tired i am lol

Just remember you will have to get both sedan and coupe and be able to test them. Oh and dont forget the resistors.. Stock radios and DIC buttons you will not be able to change and on the the sedans the back two doors do not have lights in them(97-03). The HUD buttons will be dimmer than the rest due to the fact you cant get the led strip over far enough.

Im using the right resistor - mine dim when i move the "scroll" wheel - which i was impressed about it working.

yeah i forgot, coupe and sedan..

I havnt gotten into changing the DIC yet (maybe this weekend) also i know the shifter has red overlay on the plastic with a clear bulb, working on figuring out how to change that lol

if i can get mine all changed over, then it will be something i can do, so far i know about switches lol

there was a thread on here where a guy has changed over the lights to LED. he had the DIC done, and i'm assuming my digital HVAC panel is the same. (speaking of, anybody else have a digital HVAC panel?) i'll try to find tonight or tomorrow, he seems like he would be the guy to talk to for this kidna stuff. for the plastic overlays, the cheap way to do it would be to use the color of bulb that mixes with red to get the color you want. you're limited to only the primary colors of light, but it's a start.

ive got a standard HVAC and dic, gonna tear them apart tonight.
i think the most challenging is the cluster.

there was a guy who used to do this for people, i saw a thread once about how to do it, and kept it ever since ;)

he kept the cluster a secret for obvious reasons.

haha did i post in it? this is something i've wanted to do for awhile, but due to college, i have no time, no job, and no money lol. if you can figure out a way to get the stock gauge face to glow green with the factory overlay, that would just be tits. don't think it's possible because IIRC the overlay is red, but the replacements are like $250.
