You just need a 3156 bulb. I had Putco bulbs for a while.....

They looked cool, but didn't put much extra light out. I currently have HID bulbs in there, and they put out some good light.....

Those HID bulbs look pretty good. I want it to be brighter than stock and pure white. So i was thinking LED's but not sure which ones
 
I can't comment on anything but the Putco LED's. Others have used cree bulbs, so hopefully they will pipe in; most LED's will be white/blue.

Here are stock tails with the Putco LED on the left, stock bulb in the right.....

Bronco dude, are those the smoked led tails or just the red ones? I had the red ones and had them smoked but i think they are too dark now. I am looking at getting another set of lights.
