LED headlight bulb upgrade

hey guys i recently upgraded the headlight and fog light bulbs with led 5000k ones because i wanted pure white, well i didnt get the ones with the ballast and all that so i was wondering why these bulbs arent as bright as i thought a led would be? Is it because the kits with the ballasts make it brighter? Idk much about the headlight ans fog light bulbs but the interior led bulbs ive never had a problem with. Thanks guys
 


LED's don't require ballasts. LED's are slightly brighter than halogen bulbs, and not as bright as HID bulbs. How bright did you think they would be?

okay i didnt know that lol i just thought the little box thts hooked up to the bulb is like a ballast or something. well i was comparing brightness to my friends sc400 we put a led 6000k kit in from OPT7 and it was super bright and had length of brightness. i myself didnt get a kit like his i just got led bulbs only so i was curious if the box wired to the bulb and integrated chip and fan on the bulb have something to do with better light out put? thanks
 
Some of the earlier LED's may have come with ballast's, but in this day, no ballasts'. OPT7 doesn't show ballasts', just a control driver.
