INFORMATION Leather conditioner

New member
So i'm using chemical guys nonsense diluted for leather. I use it with a brush and scrub then wipe with a towel and I get stuff really clean. So clean the the steering wheel feels almost tacky. Now I think i should apply some sort of conditioner. What one should I use? I used stuff before that left my seats super slippery. I wanna do my steering wheel and seats and I for sure don't want my wheel being slick.

Thanks

All Purpose Cleaners tend to leave leather surfaces tacky. I'm not a fan of chemical guys but I will provide you with a couple other leather options that you can find over the counter that work well.

The first one would be Meguiar's Leather Sealer System. This comes with a cleaner and leather sealer. If you need to replace the cleaner then you can buy Meguiar's Gold Class Leather & Vinyl Cleaner. It's not as strong as APC but if the leather is clean then this works just fine. The benefit of the leather sealer is it lasts longer so you would use it every 3-4 months.

You can also use Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Conditioner. This you would probably use once a month.

From Mothers I like these two

Leather Wash and Leather Cream. Since you already have APC just get the Leather Cream. The Leather Cream will last you about 2 months.

Now you want to apply each leather product thin. For the Meguiar's sealer once you apply and work it into the area you can let is sit for a few minutes and then go over the leather areas for a final buff. It will knock the shine down but it will also remove any excess product.

With the Mothers Leather Cream you apply and work it into an area and can remove it right away. Same for the Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Conditioner. Once again go over the entire area with a final light buff after about 10-15 mins to remove any excess product and knock the shine down.

Those are my tips but as always follow the directions on the bottles.

Thanks, gonna grab a can of that mothers leather cream. And I know what you mean about the APCs. I was under the impression the real issue with APCs is the PH. The stuff I used was PH balanced.
