well i think i found the problem. the front o2 sensor was bad. replaced it, added an extension harness and now it idles between 14.0 and 15.3:1. and i did find a bunch of little vacuum leaks. those little buggers were hidden pretty good. thanks for all your suggestions guys. i appreciate it.
