LCD flat screen tv question

I had a 27" tube TV and it was a bear to move. When you start hitting 32-34" tube TVs, you need two people to move them. Now I have three TVs that I can move myself - 37" LCD, 42" Plasma, and 65" DLP. Wee!

Try moving a Rear Projection TV - THAT weighs a ton. Just got a new 65" DLP today, and I moved it myself from the box to the TV stand. I was amazed at how light it is. Heck, the TV stand probably weighs twice as much as the TV!

Try moving a sony WEGA 42" HD tube tv. I had to move one of those in our lab at work a few years ago. We needed three people to move that thing... I lookd up the specs online, and found that TV weighs nearly 300 pounds :o

Fair enough. That's why the last tube I got was 27"! I was looking at a 40" Mitsubishi, but when I decided I'd do it, Mitsubishi had gotten out of the tube business.

300 lbs? damn that's one heavy tv. my old 27" sony, the one the broke weigh at least 50 plus lbs. the new samsung i have right now is at least 100 lbs. took 2 people to carry it up stairs. i know if i move i'm going to have to sell it cause i'm not carrying down the apartment stairs again.

Use a dolly (hand-truck), that's what I did when I helped a friend move... We basically slid the TV down the stairs on the dolly.
