Lazy Cruise Control

I have an 07 GP GXP. This car when I first got it years ago was spot on with cruise control. Uphill/Downhill, it didn't matter the HUD and needle wouldn't move from the speed set. Now this car has been rather lazy with the cruise control so much so that I now worry about speeding violations. Variations of speeds of up to 10 mph can occur on the same hills that used to be no problem at all. Is there a fix for this or am I to just assume she's getting lazy in her old days?

I don't know about the 07 GXP, but my 2001 GTP had a cruise control calibration, maybe yours needs to be adjusted?

The CC is completely electronic in his car because it's Drive by Wire.

If it was me, I would clean the throttle body and MAF sensors, then do a "hard" reset. Like unplug the battery for while and touch the negative and positive battery cables together to in a way clear the PCM.

Will this work, I don't know but this is a completely free option and one I would do. TB and maf cleaning should be done regardless if they have never been done.

Unfortunately those have been cleaned recently and the battery has been disconnected for quite awhile but this is all due to other issues. :/

Other thing would be to watch the TB and APP (gas pedal) at the same time on a live data scanner. That way you can make sure the gas pedal is not moving or doing things on it's own when you have the cruise set.

I don't know for certain if it works this way but the APP should be the same but because the computer controls the TB, that should be the only one that increases and decreases with uphills and downhills as it needs or doesnt need as much throttle input.

I've never run into this issue with a vehicle at work/home before but I would maybe look there as an idea.
