larger injector tuning.

trying to help out a local. hes having a hard time scaling larger injectors for an ls1 (408 now) anybody got any info???

here is what he asked.

Anyone happen to know about injector offsets and short pulse rates? This guy got me thinking at least. Said that since the injector change, i changed the MAIN thing to make it function w/ the new injectors. However, there are two other intricate tables to tune that are so out there i dont think any of us can really comprehend it, it would be guess work anyway. Apparently since know one knows about tuning for it from what ive read, that the ve and maf tables are fudged to make the injectors flow "close" to standards. I always thought injectors should come in these sizes: stock, a little bigger, big enough, ****ing large, and thats that. No flow numbers, lol.
 


You have to know the difference in the injectors to calculate how much to scale back the injector tables for the larger ones. Be careful as some inj. labeled 36# may actually put out 33#, doublecheck.

SAY stock inj. is 33# and you throw #65 inj. on.

33/65 = .507

Using this, we know that the 33# are 51% of the 65# inj.

Depending on the tuning software or whatever your using, you should change your injector flow rate table. In powrtuner, you open this table and select the cells and multiply all values by 51 percent. What happens is that it scales back the flow rate 51% making the change flawless. It will probably still need to be tuned in to get things perfect.

hptuners is a bit different but along those lines... Just have him do a search on the hptuners forum and im sure there is plenty of info. there for him.
 
well the thing is he said he was on ls1tech asking some questions but they were being kinda douchie about giving out info.

but i dont know. thanks for your help.
