Landscaping Project

Finally put mulch down this weekend. Its not near the extend of yours, but is does our house a little justice. Give me a miute and I will post a couple of pics.
 


Greg.. it's time for some updates.

We know you have done trenches, made moats and gotten some block down. Plus.. you are buying a man saw. Some pictures/updates would be nice.

Long story short I feel like I should be building an Ark instead with the amount of rain that we've had. The 2 walls in the front of the house are 90% complete and just need the ending block and corner blocks cut (which is where the man saw comes in). I have also started the bottom row of block on the ring going around the tree which is the lowest point of the whole project and have been fighting with moats with for a couple weeks now.

Goals for this weekend since the weather is supposed to be nice is to have all of the block done and have behind the walls backfilled with stone. Then over the next week to have the grading done. Project has taken longer than exepected due to the crap weather.
 


I was about to get a circus tent and cover my entire property.....next few days should be a good amount of progress
 
Pictures of the saw I bought to cut the retaining wall block. Yes it was expensive, but after adding up what I'd have in rental cost over this project and future projects (adding wet bar and bathroom into basement with pour slab) it was worth it to buy it and sell it later when I'm done with it.

MMMM maniac saw should test it out on cutting hatches off a tank....... well that's what I did last time I had one in my hands!
 
Updates......Lots of work done today. Just have to do a lot of cutting with the new man saw on the cap stone and then finish the front side of the tree.




 


Wow that place will have a lot more character once its done! Most people don't realize how much it adds until you get to stand back crack a beer and laugh at the rest of the neighborhood that looks full of naked houses!!

Thanks, there is still a decent portion to go. Once I have the cap stone on and in place it really changes the look of it. After that I plan on start doing the grading on that high spot that I want gone. I will be using my saw a lot tomorrow!

I've already gotten a lot of compliments without it even being finished. Don't want to toot my on horn but it's going to look top notch compared to everyone in my area. Landscaping really does make a big difference, looking a whole lot better..........and when I went inside today I went strait to the fridge for a cold beer.
 
Nice work man. Good choice on that saw. I have the same one. It works great. I used it on everything. You need to get a set of diamond tipped saw blades of it. Then you can really start to cut stuff up.

I got a little garden this year. I made it a bit bigger by dragging an old barn timber out of the woods with my ATV and using it for the edge. An ATV is great to use for yard work too if you got a lot of property. I use the crap out of mine.

I already have a diamond blade for it....just didn't have it changed out before the pic.

My yard is something like a 1/3 acre so there will never be and ATV......The saw is also major overkill but with eventually doing the back yard along with having to cut the slab in the basement to add plumbing....I justified buying it.
 
I have too many acres. Lol

Diamond blades are great. I cut anything and everything with them around the property.
 
Wow.. Pictures. Looks great.

That's not the average wall block is it. I believe a buddy used that.. pretty heavy blocks and commercial aren't they?
