Land Rover and Ghost Town(s) (Neat Pics)

Soooooooo..... basically myself and JEFFSGTP have been spending nearly every night, or every other night for the past week exploring our local area in search of 'cool stuff'. As in... trails, rivers, lakes, meth labs, ghost towns, etc...

Mostly we've been trying to find a way onto the Red River which serves as the border of Texas and Oklahoma and have yet to find a decent backroad/trail that leads all the way onto the river without being blocked off. Seems as if all the land right on the edge of the river is privately owned becuase every time we get close there is a farmer's gate preventing us from going any further.

Anyways, the other night we came across the ghost town of 'Clara' and check it out, pretty eerie place seeing as it has a old church from the 1800's as well as a small cemetery right down the street from it that was used from 1888-1932. (Seen in Pics Below). However we did'nt bother to take any pictures so we headed back there tonight to do so. Tried to grab some decent pictures of the church but the other place we could really do so was in the middle of the road and we did'nt want to risk getting in the middle of the road with the tripod in case that one car the entire night just so happens to be traveling down the road.

Not to mention '10th Calvary Creek' where apparently thousands of soldiers were killed by Indians, and then buried in a mass grave. Also a riverside city complete with a jail house, gambling house, and such.

Tonight for the first time we also headed off in a different direction and came across the old bridge and such pictured below as well.

Oh, and don't forget about mister tin foil hat guy and his level 3 security house. Complete with razor wire, not barb wire, razor wire onto of his fence. Lighting, guard dog, warning signs, and surely firearms inside. :th_wtf:

Thats awesome, you two need not invade our state anyway, stay down there and dont cause any trouble. :D

it is a stick figure but what it looked like was sort of a Blair Witch style sign (at least at night it looks like that...lol)

i see arms to the hips, and dots near it. and i dont remember the signs of that movie since i haven't seen it in years but i remember the stick figures in it.

Oh yeah and the guard dog sign (in orange) would normally be funny if It wasn't blatantly obvious he was serious. It says "This rottweiler can make it to the fence in 3 seconds..CAN YOU?"

thats pretty neat that kind of stuff keeps my interest. so was it you guys that put the bullet holes in the sign? lol jk

I LOOOOOVE exploring for things like that. I haven't been able to do it for years since I don't own a truck anymore. Someday maybe we'll go out to look for old farm houses and such around here.

Cool! My buddy and I used to explore too, nice to find old farm houses and such. Never found old towns though. I'd like to see more pictures of what ya got though...
