• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

LADIES! I present...

motor is in with headers sealed with RTV, ran across a problem though.. i was cleaning my throttle body and killed my coating on my SC rotors... so im gonna need a good set of rotors or get mine recoated... at a standstill until i get this taken care of.

Saw the pics of your SC,, sucks man, good luck with that!
Is everything else hooked up? mainly your seconds O2 sensor? been the topic of debate (re: extending it). How did you go about this??
Thanks

Isn't extending the O2 sensor the same as extending any wire? I thought you would just cut it, twist new wire around the old one so you can have it the length you need and tape it back together with electrical tape... I've never seen so much controversy over this..

No, it's not the same as any other wire. I quit arguing because it's so pointless on this forum anymore. I'll just say this: Do your own research before modifying an oxygen sensor or it's leads in any way. You'll find that modifying an O2 sensor is never recommended. Extending the harness, on the other hand, is just fine.

From the GM service manual:

Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Wiring Repairs
Tools Required
J 38125-D Terminal Repair Kit

Notice: Do not solder repairs under any circumstances as this could result in the air reference being obstructed.

If the heated oxygen sensor pigtail wiring, connector, or terminal is damaged the entire oxygen sensor assembly must be replaced. Do not attempt to repair the wiring, connector, or terminals. In order for the sensor to function properly it must have a clean air reference. This clean air reference is obtained by way of the oxygen sensor signal and heater wires. Any attempt to repair the wires, connectors or terminals could result in the obstruction of the air reference and degrade oxygen sensor performance.

F*ck GM's service manual... im sure they would advise against porting blowers, EGR deletes etc etc... im gonna splice wire to make it longer... IF it has any negative effects ill break down and buy ZZP's O2 harness extender. who the hell needs a o2 sensor anyway. might just seal up the bolts in the bungs and get code deleted.

on my car its the front sensor thats gonna be too short... downstream is fine. im assuming thats what u meant by second o2. and no the engine is just hookep up to mounts as of now..

the point is that he is telling you to cut the wires on the HARNESS, not the o2 sensor. pay attention.

Same headers.. These ones just have free shippig to the US, and basically include it into the price ($196), I bought the $151 ones cuz im in CAN and had to get them shipped ($100)

Sweet.

For the sake of looking like a noob: can these be changed in my garage? Assuming all I have is an extensive socket set and torque wrench. Or will I have to lift the motor out?

went back 3 pages and read every post... i see where he said extending the harness is ok.. i smoke too much bud, sorry.
