L76 springs ok for VS cam?

Title pretty much explains it. L76 springs out of the G8's. Some say they can't handle the lift. I find claims of .500, .520, and .530" max lift. What's your take GPF?

The vs can be run with new stock springs, so pretty much any spring will work that will work with these motors.

Both the spring and the cam profile play into the wear of the damper.
With that said, Ls6 springs will kill it quicker.

L76 springs are perfect for the VS cam.

and a xpz running 130s at a 1000 idle has over 30k miles on a stock chain/dampner..

True story.

Yeah, probably...and drop that idle to what...800~...and watch it destroy that stock setup, with ease.

Were talking about a VS with L76's and an XP with LS6's.

Good job comparing apples to oranges, guy.

I am just talking about having a sane idle in order to run the correct springs.

Play nice ladies.
Ok so back to my question. Will just running the LS retainers give the proper instill height of 1.8" or not? Swiggles says I need shims. Any other input?
