L67 into a 4th gen fbody? (purely hypothetical)

I was out and about earlier and saw a very clean early style 4th gen camaro RS and thought to myself, "that thing would be sick with an l67 and a manual trans."

Just wondering why you don't see eaton m90s on v6 4th gens. Fwd to rwd issues? Its easier to ls swap?

its been done. the blower needs to be customized with a U turn for the tb as it would be in the dash otherwise. upper rad hose mod is also needed.

The supercharger sits up to tall, you can do it but it takes some work, other issue is that the throttle body has to be related. There is one guy on here that started the project, not sure if he ever finished

A lot of work for 250ish horsepower.

an L67 with heads, cam and a gen 5 will make a lot more than 250ish hp.

cartuning makes a turbo kit that deletes the ac and makes a good amount of power, but the kit is like 5K, and there are not very many used ones available. you could build your own turbo kit, but I'm not sure how much custom fab work would be required, but probably less than actually putting the supercharger.

I looked at picking an L36 3800 Camaro to build a while back and it ended up being basically a dead end. the problem is why spend 5K on a turbo kit when you can just sell the car and take the 5K you have saved and pick up an SS or Z28. as far as I found, the best route to follow on modding a 3800 Camaro is to keep the L36 upper intake manifold, swap the heads so L67 heads have been installed and do a direct inject nitrous with methanol setup. you could get a set of aggressively ported heads for well under 1500, then add about another 1500 for the dual nitrous methanol kit and you would have spent ~3K and would have something putting upwards of 300 hp at the wheels. and those costs are the high end of the spectrum, you could skimp on the nitrous methanol setup and get it all used for under a 1000, and get a set of used ported heads for under 1000.

Trying to make power from a V6 Camaro is like trying to poop through a straw, sure it can be done, but there are much better ways of doing it.
5.3/ls swap would be cheaper and make more power in the end.

I think everyone is being a wuss with all that supercharger modification to reroute the TB up front, when they should just cut a hole in the firewall and dash and just mount it in the cabin. You wouldn't even need to connect the throttle cable just use your right hang to control the throttle...

lol thats been done a time or two, but they used a throttle cable. the buggy guy here his filter is in the cab.

iirc the corrola guy did the same.

I'm sure it has, I remember seeing a guy with a Corvair with a V8 in it and had the air filter between the seats. I think it was in Hotrod that I saw the article. I've seen an L67 in a rock crawler sideways and thought that was genius, no need for a transfer case.
