• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

L67 Engine Swap and Cam Decisions.

just unbolt the rockers and put pressure in the cylinder. if it still leaks from the intake then you have a major intake valve issue, if it stops leaking you have what I call mystery lift.... i never really figured out what causes it because I have never really experienced mystery lift first hand.

Definitely will do this I am just tired of working on the car already. I left my adapter at home so I will have to do this tomorrow great idea though didn't think about this. I really hope I can get this fixed without tearing it apart.
On a brighter side VS cam finally came in can't wait to get home and open it up.

Just did what you mentioned and I still hear air comming out of my supercharger :/

Ok did what you suggested and still nothing for tired of dealing with that so I took the head off pistons seem fine.

Gonna check the valves when they dry up in a bit.
also did I put my head gasket on backwards? I say this because of the arrow.

hm, well that's a good sign that the pistons are good.

and yeah, typically the arrow points towards the front of the motor (passenger side).

HG is on wrong.

The small hole goes on the waterpump side. (look at it long enough and you will know what I mean).

You are going to also want to have the heads done... you either have some super busted heads, cracked seats, or bent valves.

Yeah but you can't flip these gaskets. They are felpro the rear head gasket was on fine. I guess when I bought them they gave two the same. But over all there is no issue at all with that.
I saw many videos on how to check for leaks on the heads. Found plenty, so what I did was flipped the head over rockers facing down and added gas or water on to the valves. Sure enough 3 and 4 that had 0 compression were leaking a good amount the rest leaked very little sometimes nothing but I think I should get them all done but idk how much it would be or if I should just buy some heads of the forums? Usually 100-200 for fresh ones any thoughts? I am just tired but glad that I found the issue well don't wanna jinx myself till its all put back together and running great.

they are exactly the same and you can flip them. they're made to be flipped, hense only having one design and them being exactly the same.

get the ones you have redone at a machine shop. decking them and a valve job is cheap.

I mean flipping the gasket upside down. I say that because the back side has the metal rings the top side is covered by the gasket material so I am sure that will affect sealing the head correctly.
going to be takin them tomorrow do I need to buy anything or do they take care of it all? I just want them back to stock and function good to get the car running and sell it.

Valve job, head surfaces, new valve stems, spring shims to get the correct height and he just did a minor port.. I didn't pay for the port he just wanted to do it.

Those cracks are really bad looking... usually nearly invisible ones are enough to junk a head by most engine guy's standards.

Find it weird because they didn't have that when I installed them only the chip it has next to the valve. Going to be taking them today hopefully it won't be more then 150 for both.
