it should stop being loud and ticking after about 30 seconds when it actually gets oil up into the top half of the motor and the lifters are all pumped up. the oil light isnt a good sign.
the 3800 as a whole is a loud, ticking, ****ty sounding motor from the engine bay. yous sounds like all exhaust leak from the video, to me.
A total of maybe 2m all together that it was ran i know it isnt good but i had to start the car to see if i was getting oil pressure or not. I found out what the issue was ended up being the spring and cap that goes with the oil filter neck when i replaced the gasket i accidentally put it on backwards. Flipped it over started the car and right away the valve train got quieter still ticking in the vid but 20sc after i stopped it it completely went away now to put it all back together and take it for a test drive.that's not goot that you ran it that long without oil. theres gotta be something clogged or put together incorrect for it not to be flowing oil.
i did the same thing with my motor (except it was the oil pump not getting spun, not your exact issue) and that motor lasted three days, a total of about 200 miles max.
cross your fingers.
Car is all stock. This one isn't the engine I am putting the vs in.p300 just happens with a cam. Turn it off if you dont like it.
I think it's because of how big the misfire is.If the lights are flickering, that sounds like a potential battery connection or ground wire problem.

Wow! Might be time to grab a bore scope and look for damage.

he said his intake valves are leaking, and a bore scope would have a hard time seeing the cause of that.
A better suggestion would be to unbolt the rockers, as for some stupid crazy reason 3800's like to crack valves open when they are supposed to be closed.
Highly doubt it took off filter no signs of any shavings as well as all plugs seem ok. To me it seams like a valve is staying open longer then it should causing the misfire like when i did the leak test no exhaust or valve train leak or head gasket just intake which comes down to the intake valve not closing right if im not mistaken. First time doing this.Good point. I was thinking of looking for broken ring lands and evidence of pieces bouncing around off the top of the piston (pieces that may cause a valve to become bent).
